Heritage's Cooper Leaving for Cantor's Office

Heritage Foundation's communications director, Rory Cooper, is leaving to work for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Cooper confirmed to the Alley Tuesday.

"It's an honor to go work for Majority Leader Cantor and join his stellar team promoting the Republican pro-growth agenda to create jobs and prosperity for all Americans," Cooper told FishbowlDC.

Cooper comes to the job after the departure earlier this summer of Laena Fallon, who left for the Financial Services Forum. Earlier this year, Brad Dayspring abruptly left Cantor's office for the Young Guns Action Fund.

Cooper starts on Sept. 10.

Before joining Heritage in 2008, Cooper served for more than seven years in the George W. Bush administration ending his time there as a senior policy adviser at the Department of Energy.
