The 50-and-older membership organization has launched its "You've Earned a Say" campaign, focusing on Social Security and Medicare. They'll be sending custom vehicles to Tampa and Charlotte, where they will run quizzes, games and other activities to get people talking about the programs. (Oh, and they will be inside air-conditioned vehicles, a welcome respite to the humidity of August in the South).
"These programs are huge. They've been debated about in Washington, but really behind closed doors," AARP spokesman Josh Rosenblum said. "This is another avenue to open up the dialogue around Social Security and Medicare."
The seven-figure campaign includes tour stops at the presidential debates and other communities around the country. AARP has already aired "You've Earned a Say" ads on national television.
