Today's Influence Ads: Pig Cages, Brokerage Insurance

July 30, 2012
The Humane Society has a new ad out today blasting the National Pork Producers Council on the size of crates for breeding pigs. The ad takes the council to task for trying to defeat the Eggs Products Inspection Act Amendments of 2012, which could create a national standard for cage sizes of hens laying eggs.

A new ad, paid for by the clients of Helen Davis Chaitman, urges Congress to pass H.R. 757, or the Equitable Treatment of Investors Act. The ad proclaims the bill will re-enforce federally-mandated insurance on brokerage accounts.

AVG Technologies, Cleveland Clinic, Musicians on Call, Pepco and United Technologies also have new ads out today.

Those with continuing ads, per Kantar Media's Washington Eye, include: American Cancer Society, American Petroleum Institute, CQ Roll Call, Goldman Sachs, Lockheed Martin, Livestrong, McDonald's, National Conference Center, and WTOP.
