GOP Rep. LaTourette To Retire

Republican Rep. Steven LaTourette, R-Ohio, will not seek a 10th term to the House, two Republican sources confirmed. The news was first reported by the Columbus Dispatch.

The Dispatch reported that LaTourette, who already won a primary, is leaving over disagreement over committee assignments. Republicans are confident they'll hold the district, but John McCain carried less than 50 percent of its votes in 2008 and the GOP replacement candidate will have fewer than 100 days to build name recognition.
