Today's Influence Ads: Happy Meals, Now With Fruit

McDonald's has a new ad today touting the fruit in its Happy Meals, which the fast food company introduced back in March. The ad begins with a shout-out of sorts: "This is for educators, nutritionists, policymakers and opinion-shapers." The company also says its the biggest buyer of apples in the United States and has reduced the calories in its "most popular" Happy Meals by 20 percent.

Others with new ads out today, per Kantar Media's Washington Eye: Lockheed Martin, which draws attention to its role in NASA's Gemini Program as the company celebrates its 100th anniversary; American Graduate, which produced a series on low high school graduation rates; and Independent Service Television, which is inviting members of Congress and staffers to a discussion about healthcare and a screening of "The Waiting Room," a documentary about the uninsured and hospitals. Citigroup and Futures Without Violence had ads Sunday.

Those with continuing ads include: Congressional Management Foundation, Goldman Sachs, Lockheed Martin, Politico, Triwest Healthcare Alliance, United Healthcare and WTOP.
