Today's Influence Ads: Ag Groups Make Push

With the Senate set to begin debating the farm bill this week, a number of agriculture interest groups have new ads today, according to a compilation of print influence ads by Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group. A group of organizations led by the American Veterinary Medical Association has an ad calling for advances in agricultural research - "Public investment in support of scientific research is the foundation of U.S. agricultural productivity and is critical to maintaining the successful food and fiber sectors of the U.S. economy," the ad says - while the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy has one promoting the industry's contributions to healthy lifestyles among children.

As today's Washington Eye shows, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Boeing, Inovalon, the International Council of Shopping Centers, Meads International, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, National Children's Alliance, PhRMA, United Egg Producers/Humane Society of the United States, United Healthcare and a group of environmental and animal-protection organizations also have new ads.

Others with ads today are Altria, the American Beverage Association, CIT Group, Goldman Sachs, Lockheed Martin, Mars, Northrop Grumman, Nuclear Energy Institute, Pfizer, Taste of the South, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, United Technologies, Volkswagen, WellPoint and a group of organizations calling for the repeal of the medical device tax.
