Supreme Court Reaffirms Unlimited Citizens United Ruling In Mont. Case

The Supreme Court struck down a Montana law that placed limits on corporate campaign spending, and ruled that its two-year-old Citizens United decision applies to state law.

The 5-4 ruling came today with a one-page opinion rejecting Montana's argument that unlimited donations violated the First Amendment. The opinion reads that "there can be no serious doubt" that the Citizens United ruling applies to Montana state law.
