Scott Brown's Office Says He Will Attend GOP Convention

On the day in which Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said she will skip the Democratic National Convention to focus on her tough reelection race , Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., who also faces a contested reelection, declined to say he is a sure thing to attend the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Brown spokeswoman Marcie Kinzel said the senator will indeed attend the convention in Tampa, Fla., to officially nominate former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. "Senator Brown will attend the convention," said Kinzel, who said the question is how long Brown will stay.

But Brown himself left some question. "I'm gonna go," Brown said, before amending: "I am trying to go for a certain period of time, but just don't know yet because of scheduling," he said. "It's really a scheduling thing more than anything else."

Asked if he might not go at all, Brown repeated, "It's really a scheduling thing more than anything else."
