Murray, McCain Push Sequestration Amendment
Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., are now pushing to attach their amendment on sequestration to legislation that could move this week, including flood insurance, the highway bill, or student loans, an aide said Tuesday.
Their amendment would require both the Office of Management and Budget, as well as the Pentagon, to publicly release details of the upcoming across-the-board cuts, known as the sequester, which are slated to take effect on Jan. 2, 2013.
"We're looking at all options to get this information from the Administration as soon as possible," said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers.
