Issa to Holder: I'll Meet, But I Need the Docs

Well, Mr. Attorney General, I'll meet with you on Tuesday, but I can't guarantee that the contempt of Congress vote scheduled for Wednesday will be postponed unless I get the documents I've requested, Darrell Issa wrote to Eric Holder on Monday.

In a five-paragraph letter that carbon copied Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee flatly told the attorney general that unless he gets the documents he wants, the contempt vote will go forward.

"Only the delivery of documents outlined and offered by the Department of Justice last Thursday to staff will be sufficient to justify a postponement of Wednesday's scheduled vote," Issa wrote.

The meeting on the botched "Fast and Furious" gun-running operation is set for 5 p.m in 2157 Rayburn.

Issa's letter comes after Holder sought a sit-down with the powerful committee chairman on Monday.
