Today's Influence Ads: NCPA Calls for PBM Reform

Following the approval of the merger between the pharmacy benefit managers Express Scripts and Medco, the National Community Pharmacists Association has a new ad out today warning that "now PBM windfall profits will soar even further - at the expense of patients and pharmacies," according to a compilation of print influence ads by Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group. The ad calls on Congress to pass bills that NCPA says will reform PBMs.

As today's Washington Eye shows, the American Petroleum Institute, the College of American Pathologists, Horton's Kids, the Independent Pilots Association and Life Technologies have new ads.

Others with ads today are Altria, American Beverage Association, Business Roundtable, Chevron, CIT Group, CTIA, CVS Caremark, the European Union Delegation to the USA, Grant Thornton, Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Shareholders' Alliance, Huntington Ingalls Industries, the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women, International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Association of Manufacturers, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, Nuclear Energy Institute, One Voice Against Cancer, Oxfam America, Safari Club International, Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, United Healthcare, United Technologies, Volkswagen, Women in Government Relations, WTOP and a group of organizations calling for the reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program.
