Today's Influence Ads: A Call to Reauthorize Flood Insurance Program

A group of insurance, real estate and other associations has a new ad today calling on Congress to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program before it expires on May 31, according to a compilation of print influence ads by Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group. "By continuing to ensure access to affordable flood insurance, Congress can provide certainty for the housing market and strengthen our economic recovery," the ad says.

Another new ad comes from Oxfam America ahead of an upcoming House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on foreign aid. It calls on Congress to support USAID's "efforts to invest modest sums - less than one third of USAID's total investments - through local watchdogs, businesses, and governments in developing countries," which the ad says can help reduce corruption and injustice.

As today's Washington Eye shows, the American Energy Alliance, Citigroup, the European Union Delegation to the USA, DynCorp International, ExxonMobil, Fidelity, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, the GI Film Festival, Goldman Sachs, the Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Shareholders' Alliance, Iranian-American Society of Texas, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, National Community Pharmacists Association, National Jewish Health, One Voice Against Cancer, Safari Club International, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, WellPoint and Zurich have new ads.

Others with ads today are the Auto Alliance, Altria, America's Life Insurance Industry, America's Natural Gas Alliance, American Beverage Association, American Hospital Association, Business Roundtable, CIT Group, CTIA, CVS Caremark, Easter Seals, GE, Grant Thornton, the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women, International Council of Shopping Centers, Life Technologies, Lockheed Martin, U.S. Chamber of Commerce/GFI Group, Northrop Grumman, Nuclear Energy Institute, Southern Company, Susan G.
