Today's Influence Ads: A Baseball-Themed Push for a Highway Bill

The Transportation Construction Coalition - a group of trade associations and labor unions - has a new baseball-themed ad out today calling on Congress to pass a surface transportation bill that it says will help the economy and create jobs, according to a compilation of print influence ads by Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group. "After 31 months and 9 highway & transit program extensions ... runners are finally in scoring position," the ad says. "Highway & transit bill conference committee members, it's time to step up to the plate. American workers are looking to you to 'bring them home.'"

As today's Washington Eye shows, the American Heart Association, the National Association of Iranian Academics in Britain, the NoChokePoints Coalition, Pom Wonderful and Raytheon have new ads.

Others with ads today are America's Natural Gas Alliance, American Beverage Association, Chevron, CTIA, Economy in Crisis, Finmeccanica, Goldman Sachs, Horton's Kids, the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women, Lockheed Martin, the National Retail Federation, Nuclear Energy Institute, Pfizer, Renewable Fuels Association, the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure, Volkswagen and WTOP.
