7-11 Backs Lugar

The convenience store chain that brought you the Slurpee wants to bring GOP Sen. Dick Lugar back to Washington. 7-11 gave $25,000 to a super PAC supporting Lugar called Hoosiers for Jobs, according to iWatch News. 7-Eleven spokeswoman Margaret Chabris told the website that Lugar "understands our issues" and "is popular among our Indiana franchisees."

Lugar allies have spent about $1.5 million supporting the six-term incumbent -- about half as much as outside groups supporting his primary challenger, Richard Mourdock, have spent on the race, according to iWatch News. Mourdock is widely expected to defeat Lugar in tomorrow's Indiana primary.
