'Celebvocacy' One Offering at Feld's Shingle

May 16, 2012
After leaving the DCI Group in December, Gary Feld has been working to launch his own research and communications firm, PowerBase Associates. He started gearing up for the new shop in January and today unveiled its website.

Feld told the Alley that he is taking the skillset he developed working in Republican politics and applying it to help corporations and associations frame issues and develop advocacy campaigns.

"While my background is Republican politics, this is going to be a nonpartisan firm," he said.

He is not planning to register as a lobbyist and said he is looking to hire additional associates as the firm grows. His current clients include several PR firms, but he would not say which ones.

Another service PowerBase provides is "celebvocacy" - helping celebrities connect with lawmakers and their staffs when they visit to advocate for a cause.
