Today's Influence Ads: Renewable Fuels Association Hypes Ethanol

With Congress back in town, advertisers are flooding the pages of the Beltway publications. The Renewable Fuels Association has a pair of new ads touting ethanol's contributions to domestic energy independence and lower gas prices, according to a compilation of print influence ads by Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group. "We can't afford to pay even more at the pump," one ad says, while the other says, "Don't mess with the [Renewable Fuel Standard]."

As today's Washington Eye shows, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Bank of America, Citigroup, the Copper Development Association, the Goldman Environmental Prize, Lockheed Martin, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Ogilvy, the Paralyzed Veterans Golf Open, Pepco, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Volkswagen have new ads today or had new ads over the weekend. A group of hunting and fishing organizations also has a new ad in support of conservation in Bristol Bay, Alaska.

Others with ads today are CampaignTech Conference, CIT Group, Goldman Sachs, Monsanto, the National Fair Housing Alliance, Northrop Grumman, the Nuclear Energy Institute, Oshkosh Defense, Taste of the South and WTOP.
