Today's Influence Ads: HRC Attacks DOMA on Tax Day

On Tax Day, the Human Rights Campaign has a new ad out detailing the extra costs same-sex couples have to pay because of laws like the Defense of Marriage Act, according to a compilation of print influence ads by Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group. "LGBT families are continually denied equal treatment under the law, access to federal benefits meant to assist working families and bear an unfair tax burden in comparison to their straight counterparts," the ad says.

As today's Washington Eye shows, Allstate, the American Bankers Association, American Waterways Operators, BASF, Boeing, Clean Energy Fuels, the Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing, Council for Economic Education, CTIA, CVS, Discover, Easter Seals, First Tee, the International Council of Shopping Centers, National Farmers Union, National Restaurant Association, Nuclear Energy Institute, Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates and United Technologies have new ads.

Others with ads today are Auto Alliance, America's Life Insurance Industry, American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, American Beverage Association, CIT Group, Dynacorp, Goldman Sachs, Lockheed Martin, Pepco, the Renewable Fuels Association, United Healthcare, Volkswagen, WellPoint and WTOP.
