Business Software Alliance Restructures

The Business Software Alliance is restructuring in a move that it says will strengthen its anti-piracy efforts and its advocacy campaigns on issues including intellectual property protection and privacy.

Effective immediately, BSA is dividing into two operating units - one centered on advocacy and one on fighting software piracy. Matt Reid, the former vice president of communications, has been named senior vice president of external affairs, focusing on public policy, government relations and public engagement. And Jodie Kelley, BSA's general counsel, will also serve as senior vice president of anti-piracy.

Finally, the alliance is planning to relocate its Washington offices from 18th Street NW to Capitol Hill this summer.
