Today's Influence Ads: API Warns of Higher Gas Prices

As we reported last week, the American Petroleum Institute has launched a campaign trying to stop legislation that would end tax incentives for top oil and gas companies. It's out with a new ad today saying the bill is the same thing as higher taxes on the oil and gas industry and will lead to higher gas prices, according to a compilation of print influence ads by Kantar Media's Campaign Media Analysis Group.

As today's Washington Eye shows, Bank of America, C-Span, Chevron, Daiichi-Sankyo, the Diabetes Advocacy Alliance, Domtar, the Hospice Action Network, the National Beer Wholesalers Association, the National Federation of Independent Business and Oshkosh Defense have new ads today or had new ads over the weekend.

Others with ads are the American Beverage Association, American Chemistry Council, American Public Transportation Association, Business Roundtable, ChildFund International, ExxonMobil, Goldman Sachs, Monsanto, the National Fair Housing Alliance, Nuclear Energy Institute, Siemens, Volkswagen and WTOP.
