Top Dems Host Fundraiser for Giffords' Successor

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer, Assistant Democratic Leader Jim Clyburn and a slew of other top Democrats are hosting a Tuesday fundraiser for Ron Barber, who is facing a tough special election race to fill the vacancy left after Rep. Gabby Giffords stepped down.

Barber, a top aide to Giffords who was wounded in the shooting that almost killed the Arizona congresswoman, will attempt to hold the seat for Democrats in the June 12 election.

Attendance will run between $250 and $1,000 for individuals and between $1,000 and $5,000 for PACs.
