Scoop: Colburn to OFA as Comms Director

Veteran campaign hand Brent Colburn is headed to Chicago to become the communications director for President Obama's re-election campaign, the Alley has learned. 

Currently, Colburn is the assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security where he advises the secretary and deputy secretary on media and communications issues. Prior to that, he was the external affairs director for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Last presidential election cycle, Colburn served as communications director for the Obama campaign in Michigan and as a national spokesperson for the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
