Former Senate Chief Launching Own Firm

Rick Desimone, a former chief of staff to Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), is hanging a shingle. He is leaving his post as executive vice president at McBee Strategic to start Desimone Consulting, The Herald (Everett, Wash.) reports.

According to the paper, Desimone wrote in an email to friends: "I'm starting my own business, where I will continue to work on what I enjoy most: solving problems at the intersection of business and government and advocating for people, institutions, and causes that make a difference, especially in Washington State."
