Former Hill Staffer, Assistant Treasury Secretary to Lead Ernst & Young

January 17, 2012
Mark Weinberger, a former congressional aide and assistant Treasury secretary, has been named the next chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young, the firm announced today. He is taking over for Jim Turley, who is retiring in June 2013.

Weinberger was the assistant Treasury secretary for tax policy under President George W. Bush and served on the Social Security Advisory Board under President Clinton. In the 1990s, he was tax and budget aide to former Sen. John Danforth (R-Mo.).
