Sources: Top UPS Lobbyist Wellman to Retire

Arnold Wellman, the head of UPS' Washington office, is retiring after more than three decades with the company and will be replaced by Citigroup's Laura Lane, according to lobbyists familiar with the move.

Wellman will step down in February as the corporate vice president of UPS worldwide public affairs to make way for Lane, who is a Citi managing director and head of international government affairs. UPS usually promotes from within, leading some to speculate that Lane must have really impressed the brass to land the gig.
