Romney To Hold D.C. Fundraiser

Proving yet again that he is the GOP establishment candidate, Mitt Romney heads to Capitol Hill Wednesday for a breakfast fundraiser with almost 60 current and former lawmakers as well as a raft of lobbyists, according to an invitation obtained by the Alley

The 8 a.m. event at the American Trucking Associations' offices begins with a photo-op followed by a general reception that requires a $500 personal donation and $1,000 per PAC. Hosts were asked to raise $10,000 and include lobbyists Wayne Berman, Sam Geduldig, Mark Isakowtiz, Ron Kaufman and Drew Maloney.

Republican Sens. Roy Blunt, Thad Cochran and Orrin Hatch as well as GOP Reps. Darrell Issa and Greg Walden and a slew of other current lawmakers will be on hand, helping draw out the lobbyists, who generally prefer talking to a member of Congress than shaking hands with a presidential candidate.
