McCarthy To Obama Administration

Aoife McCarthy has joined the Corporation for National and Community Service as press secretary from the Glover Park Group, where she was a director. 

McCarthy will "develop and execute proactive communication plans and strategies to advance the agency's mission, strategic plan, and programs to increase participation in and support for national and community service," according to an internal memo announcing her hire. McCarthy will also serve as the spokeswoman for the agency, which runs AmeriCorps, Senior Corps and leads President Obama's call to service initiative.

McCarthy, a friend of the Alley, has also worked at National Journal, Politico and the communications firm Financial Dynamics
