House GOP Super PAC Launches

The Congressional Leadership Fund, a Super PAC dedicated solely to preserving the House Republican majority, has some big names coming to its inaugural event, with House GOP leadership scheduled to attend the kickoff on Nov. 2 at the Capitol Hill Club.

The new super PAC is the GOP's answer to the House Majority PAC, a Democratic Super PAC formed in April and backed by Democratic leadership.

House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, National Republican Congressional Committee chair Pete Sessions, Chief Deputy Majority Whip Peter Roskam and Leadership Chairman Greg Walden were invited to the kickoff, the Fund announced today.

"To compete against those on the liberal left who are organizing to undermine the historic gains Republicans made in 2010, the Congressional Leadership Fund is the tip of the spear to re-elect Republican incumbents and build on the Republican majority won in 2010," said Fund president Brian Walsh.
