Chris Frates On Power, People And Influence From Capitol Hill To K Street

Tomorrow's News Tonight

A group of blue chip companies and business organizations is launching a coalition Tuesday morning to push Congress to lower the corporate tax rate and make it more competitive with America's trading partners.

The Reducing America's Taxes Equitably Coalition includes Altria Client Services, FedEx, Verizon, the Association of American Railroads and Walt Disney and is co-chaired by Elaine Kamarck, a former adviser to President Clinton and Vice President Gore, and James Pinkerton, a former adviser to Presidents Reagan and Bush I

The RATE Coalition, as it's calling itself, will target the Super Committee, as well as Congress and the White House, with a lobbying, education and media campaign. No word yet on what it intends to spend or how long the campaign will last.
Launch and briefing Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Cannon Room 441.
