Enviro Groups Target 'Lethal Legislation'

A coalition of environmental groups has created, a website that promises to "get the dirt on who in Congress is siding with big polluters by attacking clean air and what it means for your and your family's health."

The site is still flying under the radar, but a soft launch is expected soon.
The site tracks lawmakers who support "lethal legislation" that the groups say would roll back or block health and safety protections. For each lawmaker, the site lists: the sources of pollution each lawmaker supports increasing (kilns, boilers, etc.), how many lives would be put at risk, how many at-risk asthmatic children live in that state and how much campaign cash each has accepted from "polluters."
The website is a project of Save Our Environment, which includes groups such as Greenpeace, the Sierra Club and Defenders of Wildlife and comes as environmental and health groups push back against legislation in the Republican-controlled House that some say would gut clean air rules.
