New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will launch the first television ad of his reelection campaign on Wednesday, initially backed by nearly $1.5 million, according to a Republican source tracking ad buys.
The ad is a 60-second spot; the initial buy runs from Wednesday through May 12. The ad will air on broadcast and cable in the New York City and Philadelphia media markets.
Christie is a heavy favorite in his matchup with Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono. A Quinnipiac University poll conducted earlier this month showed Christie leading Buono by 32 points.
PolitickerNJ.com first reported Christie would be going on the air this week.
