Obama Cuts Ad for Chris Murphy

President Obama cut a television ad for Rep. Chris Murphy, D-Conn. -- the first ad he has filmed for a Democratic Senate nominee this year.

"I know Chris Murphy," says Obama in the spot. "Chris has a real record of job creation here in Connecticut. And a jobs plan that puts the middle class first. And I know Chris Murphy will always stand up to those who would turn back the clock on women's health. I know the stakes are high. And I need Chris Murphy as a partner in the United States Senate."

It makes sense for Obama to film an ad supporting the nominee in Connecticut, where the president is expected to win easily. Murphy is in a closer race against Republican Linda McMahon, who also ran in 2010. Murphy has led in most recent polls.

Mitt Romney has also cut ads for several Republican Senate candidates: Richard Mourdock in Indiana, Denny Rehberg in Montana, and Jeff Flake in Arizona.
