Kyrsten Sinema Winner in Arizona's 9th District

Democrat Kyrsten Sinema has won the race to represent Arizona's new 9th Congressional District, according to the Associated Press, which called the race Monday.

Maricopa County is still tallying thousands of outstanding early and provisional ballots, but Sinema had steadily opened a wider and wider lead as those votes were counted since Election Day. Sinema currently leads GOP nominee Vernon Parker 48 percent to 45 percent, with a Libertarian challenger grabbing the support of six percent of voters.

There are now five remaining House races (in addition to a runoff in Louisiana's 3rd District).
