Gibson Breaks With Norquist on Pledge

The newest addition to the list of Republicans breaking with Grover Norquist's anti-tax pledge: New York Rep. Chris Gibson. Check out the other Republicans distancing themselves from the pledge in the lead-up to the fiscal cliff here, here, and here.

"I don't envision signing any pledges now because going forward I have a record that I'm proud to run on that's pro-growth," Gibson said to the Oneonta Daily Star. Gibson had previously signed the pledge.

His spokesperson Stephanie Valle told the Albany Times Union he won't the pledge again. She noted that Gibson is still against raising tax rates on individuals or businesses but "will consider all comprehensive packages."
