What's in Your Purse? Candidates Answer.

Marie Claire asked several women running for office this fall they have inside their purses. From meditation beads to guns, here are a few of our favorites, via the New York Observer:

Massachusetts Democratic Senate nominee Elizabeth Warren says she doesn't carry a bag, but totes a backpack instead.

Former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon -- who has been emphasizing her family and role as a mother and grandmother as she seeks to broaden her appeal to women voters -- stays on message, noting that her bag contains photos of her grandchildren.

Former GOP Rep. Heather Wilson, the GOP nominee for New Mexico Senate, keeps Rockstar Lemonade on hand.

Tulsi Gabbard, the Democratic nominee in Hawaii's 2nd District, makes sure to have "meditation beads" on hand.

Tammy Duckworth, the Democratic candidate in Illinois's 8th District, is a big fan of her bag: "I have a fabulous vintage hot-pink purse I got for $10. It fits my speeches, netbook, Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb, and Sephora Minimergency Kit." Saving the best for last: Orlando police chief Val Demings, the Democratic nominee in Florida's 10th District, says, "I carry a 9-millimeter gun in my Dooney & Bourke that was a gift when I retired from the police department."
