Embattled Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin stepped into it again.
In Missouri this weekend, the Republican Senate nominee said at a fundraiser that Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill has fetched regulation and taxes "like one of those dogs" during her time in Washington.
PoliticMO has the audio: "So she goes to Washington, D.C., it's a little bit like one of those dogs, 'fetch,'" he said. "And she goes to Washington, D.C., and get all of these taxes and red tape and bureaucracy and executive orders and agencies she and brings all of this stuff and dumps it on us in Missouri."
It's far from the first pot-stirring thing Akin has said recently: In addition to his now-infamous comments that "legitimate rape" rarely causes pregnancy, after the candidates met for their first debate this fall, he remarked that McCaskill had been more "ladylike" during her first run for Senate.
