Newspaper Endorsement Roundup: Three for Sherrod

Endorsement season is upon us: Every Monday from now through the election, Hotline on Call will round up Senate and gubernatorial candidates' new newspaper endorsements. Here's our first installment:

Senate candidates:

Winchester Star backed former Virginia GOP Sen. George Allen.

Reno News & Review endorsed Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev.

Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, is racking up endorsements: from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Toledo Blade, and Youngstown Vindicator.

The Philadelphia Inquirer endorsed Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J.

The Toledo Blade also endorsed Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich.

Gubernatorial candidates: The Bismarck Tribune endorsed North Dakota Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple. The Salt Lake Tribune endorsed Utah GOP Gov. Gary Herbert. Foster's Daily Democrat endorsed New Hampshire GOP nominee Ovide Lamontagne. Washington GOP Attorney General Rob McKenna snagged three endorsements: The Seattle Times, Everett Herald, and Tri-City Herald.
