Monday Afternoon Fundraising Roundup

With the third quarter fundraising deadline upon us, here are some last minute Senate fundraising numbers released by the campaigns this afternoon:

In Pennsylvania, GOP businessman Tom Smith announced raising slightly more than Democratic Sen. Bob Casey during the third quarter -- and also loaned his campaign a whopping $10 million for good measure. Smith raised $1.6 million to Casey's $1.5 million. Smith had $7 million in the bank for the final stretch -- but will presumably loan himself more if necessary.

In neighboring New Jersey, Sen. Bob Menendez's, D-N.J., campaign announced raising $1.3 million during the third quarter, with a very comfortable $8.3 million in the bank. GOP challenger Joe Kyrillos hasn't announced his numbers.

In North Dakota, GOP Rep. Rick Berg raised nearly $1.6 million and reported over $1.5 million on hand. His Democratic opponent Heidi Heitkamp also reported raising nearly $1.6 million but her campaign has not yet released their cash on hand.

In Nebraska, GOP state Sen. Deb Fischer announced raising $2.4 million in the third quarter, ending with nearly $1.5 million in the bank at the end of the period. Her Democratic opponent Bob Kerrey had announced raising $1.7 million. And in Texas, Republican Ted Cruz's campaign announced bringing in $3.5 million, and $2 million cash on hand at the end of September.
