McCrory Raises $3.1 Million in 3rd Quarter

Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory raised a hefty $3.1 million for his North Carolina gubernatorial bid during the 3rd quarter, leaving him with more than $2.3 million in the bank on September 30.

His campaign also touted having brought in more than $1 million last week, their most successful week of fundraising to date. North Carolina Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton has not released his fundraising numbers.

McCrory ended the second quarter with $4.4 million in the bank -- much more than Dalton's $714,000, partially due to the fact that the Democrat had a primary to contend with.

McCrory is heavily favored to win the race against Dalton -- polls show the Republican up by double digits.
