LCV Going Up in Wisconsin Senate Race

The League of Conservation is entering the Wisconsin Senate race for the final week prior to the election with a $1 million ad buy in support of Democratic Rep. Tammy Baldwin.

The LCV buy consists of two ads. One, running in the Madison media market, is a positive spot linking Baldwin to President Obama. "In four years, Barack Obama and Tammy Baldwin have created thousands of new energy jobs," the narrator says. "Now, President Obama needs an ally in the Senate, and we need Tammy Baldwin."

The other, running in the Miwaukee media market, both boosts Baldwin and uses a standard attack against GOP nominee Tommy Thompson. "We all know Tommy Thompson cashed in when he went Washington," says the narrator. "Earning millions peddling influence for special interests."

The Wisconsin Senate race is one of the closest in the country, and outside money has been pouring in on both sides -- but this is the first LCV ad in the race.
