Kaine Raises $4.5 Million

Huge fundraising haul for Tim Kaine: The Democratic nominee in Virginia's Senate race raised approximately $4.5 million in the third quarter.

The campaign had just $1 million in the bank as the quarter ended, but that's after shelling out an additional $3 million in advertising for the stretch.

Kaine has been outraising GOP opponent George Allen, who has not released his third quarter numbers yet. During the second quarter, Kaine brought in $3 million while Allen raised $2 million.
