Friday Afternoon Fundraising Roundup

With the deadline to report third quarter fundraising numbers just a few days away, here are a few new Friday afternoon numbers:

Former Rep. Heather Wilson, R-N.M, announced raising nearly $2.2 million in her Senate bid, finishing September with $1 million on hand. No fundraising numbers yet from her opponent, Democratic Rep. Martin Heinrich, who is favored to win.

During the second quarter, Wilson outraised Heinrich, bringing in $1.6 million to his $1.4 million, though he finished the period with $1.8 million in the bank to her $1.6 million.

In Maine's Senate contest, GOP Secretary of State Charlie Summers brought in $507,000, according to his campaign, and finished the quarter with $189,000 in the bank.

It's not a huge number, but Maine is also an inexpensive state. More importantly, Summers has plenty of outside help from groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Republican Senatorial Committee in his quest to beat former Independent Gov. Angus King. No numbers yet from King or the Democratic nominee, state Sen. Cynthia Dill. Outside money targeting Summers has also been pouring in recently, from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Americans Elect.
