Linda McMahon's Debate Demands

File this under debate challenges no one would ever accept.

In the opening days of the general election in Connecticut Senate, debate over debates has been amping up. Democratic Rep. Chris Murphy and former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon are sparring over how many, where, when, and on what. Soon after winning Tuesday's primary, Murphy challenged McMahon to debate on the subject of jobs next week.

McMahon campaign manager Corry Bliss' statement in response (bolding mine): "Chris Murphy's embarrassing challenge doesn't go nearly far enough. We propose four statewide debates - two of which must be focused entirely on the issue of job creation in Connecticut. Further, we demand that one of those jobs debates be located in Groton, home of Electric Boat, and focus on the evidence of Murphy's dereliction on economic issues in Connecticut."

It seems unlikely that Murphy will agree to a debate focused on him neglecting economic issues.
