Sherrod Brown Raises $3 Million

Sen. Sherrod Brown's, D-Ohio, campaign raised more than $3 million in the second quarter, and now has $6.5 million in his campaign coffers.

It's an impressive haul for Brown, and his best so far (he raised nearly $2.4 million in the first quarter). Brown needs to keep raising big money -- outside GOP-aligned groups are heavily targeting the senator's reelection campaign, and have already poured over $10 million in spending against him.

His opponent, Republican Treasurer Josh Mandel, has yet to release his fundraising haul for the quarter, but he has raised money at an impressive clip throughout the race.
