The Democratic Governors Association doubled down on its investment in Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon's reelection campaign, making another $500,000 contribution to the incumbent on July 1.
The DGA previously made a $500,000 contribution to Nixon on March 31.
Nixon is favored in his reelection campaign, where he will likely face self-funding GOP busiessman Dave Spence. While Nixon had a strong second quarter, pulling in $2.1 million, Spence raised just $500,000 and lent his campaign an additional $500,000.
