West: Obama Policies 'Destroying the Black Community'
The prospect of running for reelection in a non-wave year, with President Obama atop the ticket, clearly has not curbed Rep. Allen West's appetite for courting controversy. In a note on his Facebook page posted today, West accuses Obama of "destroying the black community" with his economic policies:
As a Member of the Congressional Black Caucus and the House Small Business Committee, I am seriously concerned with the 13 percent unemployment number for Black Americans. The failed economic policies of President Obama are destroying the black community and lessening the chances for economic freedom while promoting economic dependence. Perhaps this is what the NAACP was afraid to hear me address.
Last month, West's comment that a number of congressional Democrats were communists got him uninvited from a local NAACP event at which he was slated to speak.
