Underdog Superfans Win 4th Annual Political Pursuit!

April 26, 2012
"We can name that tune after two words," quipped NPR's Ken Rudin, Martin's teammate. Some questions hit closer to home. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a Political Pursuit rookie playing for the Hotline Members team, was well-prepared to answer this piece of "West Wing" trivia: In which congressional district did Rob Lowe's character run after working in the White House? The answer: California's 46th District ... which, it just so happens, is currently represented by Sanchez in real life. Skotzko, who was selected by audience members as the event's first-ever MVP, couldn't decide which victory was sweeter -- the individual accolade or the team award. "Well, I would say winning everything is very significant, but I have a feeling my fiance tweeted for a chunk of the event," she said. -- Dan Roem contributed.
