Madison Capital Times Backs Barrett Over Falk

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has emerged as the favorite for the Democratic nomination in Wisconsin's gubernatorial recall, and it is looking less and less likely that former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk will be able to turn the tide before the May 8 primary.

The latest example of Barrett's momentum in the race comes in the form of an endorsement from the editor of the liberal Madison Capital Times. Falk's inability to win over the editorial page at the leading progressive publication in her geographic base of Madison speaks volumes.

While Falk still has organized labor on her side, Barrett has convinced many on the left that he is the more electable candidate -- and influential progressive supporters continue to line up behind the Milwaukee mayor.
