Hotline Sort: Boehner's Badge of Courage

4) The Boston Globe wants to see six years of tax returns from Brown and Elizabeth Warren. Warren says she will release two if Brown does; Brown may go even further. 3) The Wall Street Journal reports Crossroads GPS raised $76.8 million from fewer than 100 donations during its first 19 months in operation. 2) Mitt Romney aide Beth Myers, who is heading the former governor's search for a running mate, provides some insight on the process to the New York Times:

Ms. Myers said she would seek advice from those who had overseen the vice presidential processes for John McCain and George W. Bush -- as unorthodox as those searches might have been. Once a preliminary list of names is compiled, she said, she and Mr. Romney will look for insight from within their own orbit -- close friends, donors with business expertise and other politicians.

1) House Speaker John Boehner had some harsh words for President Obama on CBS this morning, saying he " lost his courage" and "all he's done is campaign full time for the last six months. ... He's not been engaged in the legislative process at all ... it's shameful." Boehner officially endorsed Romney on Tuesday. With the president's reelection team making a concerted effort to run against congressional Republicans and more leaders officially getting behind Romney, the war of words could turn nastier still in the near future.
