Cornerstone Schools co-founder Clark Durant raised nearly $558,000 during the first quarter of 2012, his campaign announced on Wednesday. Durant ended the period with $1.5 million in the bank.
Durant is waging an underdog bid in the Republican priamry against former Rep. Pete Hoekstra. Hoekstra has not yet released his fundraising numbers but has pulled in about a million dollars in each of the previous two quarters. He had about $1.5 million in the bank at the end of 2011.
Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow's first quarter was her most productive ever. She raised $1.5 million and finished with $7 million in the bank.
