Bruning Raises $530,000

Nebraska Republican Attorney General Jon Bruning raised more than $530,000 in the first quarter and spent all of it.

According to figures first provided to Hotline On Call, Bruning will report $1.45 million in the bank. At the end of 2011, he had $1.63 million on hand, meaning he has less money in the bank than when he started the quarter. Television advertising explains much of the money spent, as Bruning has already been up on the airwaves.

Bruning is the frontrunner against state Treasurer Don Stenberg and state legislator Deb Fischer in the GOP primary. Neitehr has released their first quarter numbers yet.

The primary is May 15.
